Just got a call from the bike shop…My new road bike has arrived – yay!
But it’s got a stonking hole in the downtube – boo!
Could be 4 weeks before the replacement arrives
QC not 100% at the factory then
Thats rubbish mate, maybe they could chuck in some freebies to make up for the wait?
Thats bollocks – why even ring you if its damaged?
Bunch of poo poo smelly pumps if you ask me.
They said it would be in this week, so I presume that’s why they called – to tell me it was in, but was damaged and the new timescale was going to be a lot longer.
Thats for the seatpost to go in
Doesn’t inspire much confidence does it.
It’s not good is it.
Fingers crossed it does arrive. Two people at work: One, her boyfriend has been waiting 3 months for his new bike. The other, has had his on order since beginning of Jan. Neither have managed to get a firm delivery date.
Sounds like horse sh1te to me!
I would be absolutely shocked for a frame to be assembled in the factory and them not spot such a minor issue as a feckin hole in the frame!
Ohhh well lets hope it in soon so we can go for a cream tea run with Matt
Sorry, they did say it was transit damage. Hope they’re not pulling a fast one, don’t want to deal with people like that. They are a bit “wide boys” in that shop, but I think they’re okay. One of my work colleagues went to that shop with me once, he summed them up best with his comment as we got back into the car “livin’ the dream”.
Cream tea shop opens at Easter…
I can smell fishy poo poo, how the feckin’ hell can a bike get a hole in a frame? In transit too! Has anyone here ever tried to put a hole in metal with out a drill or a bleeding big hammer and a punch?
Like I said, fishy poo poo.
You lot are doing wonders in making me trust my local bike shop!
Clive – see what you’re saying, but it is a carbon fibre frame so somewhat easier to puncture than alloy.
Sorry Rafe, Easter, thats early this year too is’nt it??
Hope it gets sorted soon, you would think they would just stick a new one in the post wouldn’t you? especially with a fault like that, so should be another week or so.
Should have my new bike by Easter
Okey dokey, maybe a bit easier to break then, but still take some effort!
Lets try again…
I think that your bikes been raped by the Bike Fucker of Buckinghamshire.
He’s notorious you know.
He goes round punching small holes in carbon frames then has his wicked
way with them.
I bet if they picked the bike up and shook it there would be some
“residue” still left inside the frame.
That worked Joby. Sorry it was broken when you had such a stunning piece of stuff to say.
Well you should be sorry sunshine. My wisdom is worth more to you than the energy the sun provides
Regardless of what the frame is made of, it’s still rather hard to put a hole in a frame without fucking up the box and/or other stuff. Tsk tsk. They’re most certainly wide boys, sorry to say it Rafe.
@matt: easter is beginning of april this year as opposed to actually on my birthday. As a birthday present this yr I get the start of summertime and lose an hours sleep.
Maybe there was a hole in the box, I have no idea as I never saw it. Maybe the courier let it fall onto something in his van and the damage was done en route to the shop?
Maybe you are making excuses?
I’m just okay with accepting what the shop told me as the truth. The bike arrived but was damaged so they’ve ordered a replacement which will be a while.
I know how couriers treat parcels so am not surprised a bike could get damaged between warehouse and bike shop.
And most of the bikes I looked at, in different shops, all had a 4+ week lead time so not surprised that the replacement will take a while.
It’s just you lot think there’s a conspiracy going on!
You confuse me – in the fifth comment your almost admitting defeat and now your strong and defiant.
You confuse me yon fella
You wore me down
Sorry – ring still sore?
Some cream you recommended on another blog’ll help that – failing that – I’ll use vaseline next time.
